In recent years, our anthropoid cousins have been getting good press. For example, changing legislation in England has brought primates into the light and out of private homes. Going from news to gossip, have you heard of the risque “love triangle” formed when a female Japanese macaque seized management of her troop? And who can forget monkey Punch, the cute baby who, spurned by his mother, befriended a stuffed orangutan toy? Let’s explore the scientific side of timely monkey business.
Our speaker is biological anthropologist Julie Hui, Adjunct Professor at the College of Marin. Julie was — and is — a Wonderfest Science Envoy who takes science outreach seriously.
