Ryan Rogers – 2026 Wonderfest Science Envoy

Ryan Rogers is a PhD candidate in marine ecology at Stanford University’s Hopkins Marine Station. His research focuses on how biodiversity is maintained inCalifornia
estuaries impacted by human activity. Using genetic and experimental approaches, Ryan studies seagrass ecosystems and the invertebrate and algal communities they support, with the goal of understanding how these communities develop, respond to environmental change, and contribute to the valuable benefits associated with seagrass ecosystems. Outside of research, Ryan enjoys swimming, watching nature documentaries, and playing volleyball.
