Sebastian Somolinos – 2026 Wonderfest Science Envoy

Sebastian Somolinos is a 4th-year PhD student in Drew Endy’s lab in Stanford’s Bioengineering Department. As a synthetic biologist, he dreams of making biology easier to engineer. To do so, he works on developing new methods that can generate massive amounts of data from a single experiment. He believes that such data will help us understand the design rules involved in building life from the bottom up. Outside of the lab, Sebastian enjoys surfing, snowboarding, camping, and learning guitar.
