2021 Science Envoy

Kishore Patra is a third-year graduate student working with Alex Filippenko on supernova explosions, the death of massive stars. His current research includes detecting polarized light from these cataclysmic events to determine the geometry of the explosion and its surroundings. He grew up in a little village on the eastern coast of India before moving to the UK, and then to the US for higher education. In his free time, Kishore likes playing cricket, taking photo-walks and writing stories.
