Jacob Gorneau

Jacob Gorneau is a fourth-year PhD student in the labs of Damian Elias and Rosemary Gillespie in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at UC Berkeley. He is broadly interested in arthropod evolution. For his PhD, he is using molecular data from museum specimens to answer questions about the relationships between scorpions and spiders, and the impact of anthropogenic and geological changes on biodiversity. Jacob also enjoys studying historical and current participation trends in museum biology and contextualizing the evolutionary relationships of animals with traits, such as behavior.
