QinQin Yu
Wonderfest Science Envoy 2019
QinQin Yu is a PhD student in Physics at UC Berkeley, working in the interdisciplinary field of biophysics. She studies biofilms: dense, sticky, colonies of bacteria that can be found from the surface of your teeth to the surface of your toilet bowl. QinQin makes models of how biofilms evolve antimicrobial resistance over time. She is very interested in the intersection between research, science policy, international development, and education. When not in the lab, QinQin enjoys hiking, cooking, painting, and playing music.
