Peter Chin-Hong – 2022 Sagan Prize Recipient

Peter Chin-Hong is Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He is also associate director of the predoctoral research fellowship programs at the UCSF Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Dr. Chin-Hong specializes in treating infectious diseases; his research focuses on human papillomavirus, Chagas disease, and viral and fungal infections in patients with suppressed immune systems. His findings have been published in numerous journals and books, and his frequent media interviews have contributed significantly to the public understanding of COVID. Peter’s Chinese-influenced upbringing in the African-Caribbean community of Trinidad and Tobago helps him, today, to reach people of diverse cultures.
