Gustav (“Tavi”) Steinhardt – 2023 Wonderfest Science Envoy

Gustav (“Tavi”) Steinhardt is a PhD candidate in biological anthropology at UC Berkeley, focusing on the behavior and ecology of Amazonian tamarins. He conducts fieldwork at a remote biological station in southeastern Peru, trying to understand the mutual influence of social and ecological interactions among these small, resilient, and extraordinarily charismatic animals. In addition to behavior and ecology, his academic interests include evolution, neuroscience, and ethics.
