Evan Groover
Wonderfest Science Envoy 2020
Evan Groover is a PhD student in Plant and Microbial Biology at UC Berkeley. He studies how plants and bacteria take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, and how this knowledge can be leveraged to make more productive and sustainable crop plants. Along the way, he is developing new tools to modify crops for increased yield, disease resistance, and nutrition. He is fascinated by plants and the way they shape our society, and hopes to use his space in science outreach to teach, discuss, and engage with the public about the future of agriculture.
