Andrew Mayo
Wonderfest Science Envoy 2020
Andrew Mayo is a second-year PhD student working on the detection and characterization of exoplanets in the Berkeley Astronomy Department. His current research involves estimating the masses of small exoplanets through the tiny velocity variations they induce on their host star. He hopes to apply this and future work to questions of planetary habitability and how to detect and characterize life on other planets. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys science fiction, traveling, and hosting astronomy-themed movie nights for the public.
