Robert Hall

Robert Hall is a biology PhD candidate at Stanford University studying how meiotic recombination is controlled during sex cell creation which is crucial for reproduction. Robert earned his AA at the University of Wisconsin–Waukesha before transferring to UW–Madison where he successfully completed dual majors in evolutionary genetics and policing history. He concurrently studied abroad in Ghana and Costa Rica, researched evolutionary biology at Caltech, and started Liberated Intellects, a project to help formerly incarcerated people gain education. Upon graduation, he then researched meiotic recombination at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Now at Stanford, Robert aims to further evolutionary biology and the public’s understanding of the field, and to refine Liberated Intellects to help formerly incarcerated people interested in STEM disciplines, particularly those students at community colleges, where his journey began as well.
