Enrico Calvanese – 2024 Wonderfest Science Envoy
Enrico Calvanese is a PhD Candidate in Plant Biology at UC Berkeley. He is interested in understanding the way plant cells control the movement of important biomolecules into and out of the nucleus — the hallmark organelle of most multicellular organisms. The genes that govern these processes indirectly hold sway over almost all other functions of the cell, and thus studying them is an important step for the unifying goal of more agronomically valuable crops. Outside of the lab, Enrico is impatiently waiting for the Winter season to bless all skiers and snowboarders with endless snowy fun.
